Hi everyone. Just wanted people to know that I am planning on improving tokubo.com in the near future. I will be adding some cool new features that will make it a lot easier to share things like photos and other news. Also, I did receive a lot of printed photos from the reunion and Ryan's wedding. I'm just trying to find the time to scan everything in and upload them.

Well over 80 people attended the reunion. I didn't excatly count... Thanks to everyone for putting the event together. Good food and as always, it was nice to see so many different people. Everyone had a great time! Thanks to everyone (especially Jane, Tom, Frank, Rod, Charlene and Amy) for helping to contribute to the Family Tree. When I get home I'll PDF it for everyone to look at. The tree got very very big. Don't forget to send in your images to me! --Todd

I've received another email from Mitsuko Iwasaki from Goro Tokubo's family. Finally my family met one of the Tokubos, Judy, at Hiroshima station at 3:45 p.m.on April 17th. My near relative joined us and Goro's family had a welcome party for Judy at a Japanese restaurant at night. We could learn about Tokubo family from her. She stayed at my house just a night. The next day, we went to Miyajima for sightseeing with her. We were very happy to meet her. This is the latest Goro's family photo. Reminder:Mariko Tokubo's 7-year memorial service is in Fowler on Apr 23 @ 11am.Other notes:I am working on an update to the site. Please feel free to send your images to me. I'm prepping for a massive reformat of several sections.Akemi has sent me a family tree for the Kijiro Tokubo side of the family. Kevin Tsuda and I are working on the other two branches. I'll post all of them when they're ready.

I'm making some changes to the back-end of the program that lets me update the front page. It will make it a little easier to add content for people who don't normally use HTML. I'm trying some other things also, the reunion email only goes to a couple of people, but I haven't seen too many people using it lately. Keep sending in updates (pics, stories, etc.). Also, most of you who have emailed me before have tokubo.com email accounts. If not, drop me an email, and I can get it setup.

I'm actually starting what I'm calling a "scrape" archive. I'm using Google to find all of the related Tokubo references. I found an interesting page. A little investigating shows it's owned a Mike Tokubo. One thing is clear, Mike is much better at Photoshop that I am. Mike, drop me an email. --Todd

It's a busy day for the site. Today, I got my first unsolicited family email, and SUPRISE, it's actually from Japan: Dear Todd How do you do ? I'm Mitsuko Iwasaki and I live in Hiroshima, Japan. I'm really glad and excited to stumble across your wonderful website. Congratulations on your marriage and the birth of your first son. My previous name is Mitsuko Tokubo and I was born in 1948. My father's name is Goro Tokubo. My father, Goro, and your grandfather, Moriye Tokubo, are brothers. In short, Your father, Shigeru, is one of my cousins. I confirmed you are one of my relatives when I saw the pictures of MORIYE & MARIKO's graves of the website. I have talked to Mariko on the phone only once about eight years ago. Now, I knew that your family has lost Mariko. I'm very sorry to hear that. When Moriye & Mariko came back to Japan in 1969, I met them for the first time. They gave a good impression on my mind. Mariko used to send my father letters and pictures. I have inherited those pictures from my deceased parents. I have your parents' wedding pictures now. How are your parents, Shigeru and Keiko ? How is Satoru ? I have met him once when he visited Japan in 1962. How is Akira ? I'd like to get an information about my other cousins. I can read English and write in English with a dictionary in my hand, but I'm not good at English.　Could you please write me an email in plain English language or write in Japanese(Romaji). (Speaking English is much more difficult than writing English for me.) Give my best regards to your family and my cousins. Sally sent along a link to a news story talking about Rod Tokubo's trip to Thailand. He had the misfortune to be there during the horrible tsunami. Not only did he survive, he was a volunteer helping the area to clean up after the tragedy.

We're back up and running now. Let me recap what's happened over the last few weeks: Server #1 died. We lost about 4 months of data. Then during my move, I could not get DSL service at my new home. So I had to move the website to a new server. This is where it's at now. Sorry about the delays. Email addresses are coming back on-line slowly. And the family reflector will hopefully be up soon. --Todd

Well... The drive on the previous server died. So I'm spending some time rebuilding a new server. So, mail will be offline for a while, until I get a chance to fix it. I'll try to scrape up old news messages also. Feel free to drop me a line. The reunion reflector will not be working until I get the mail server up again.
